About Us

Our Journey

Ema Haq, a mechanical engineering grad from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, started Baileys Seafood and Grill in 1993. Back then, there were no Indian restaurants in Lafayette. Balancing his engineering studies with a passion for cooking, Haq's restaurant quickly became known for both its food and its community spirit, including free Thanksgiving dinners for those in need.

With new coal-fired tandoori ovens, Baileys Tandoori Grill now serves South Asian favorites like samosa chaat, chicken biryani, lamb karahi, and chicken tikka masala. We still offer beloved classics like pan-fried flounder with jumbo shrimp and crabcakes.

Our Passion

Ema Haqs passion for cooking and community is as strong as ever. Now 60, he continues to innovate and engage with his community, while expanding his ventures including Ema's Cafe and his food distribution businesses.
